At Aurum, we’re building the microbial infrastructure for Earth and beyond.
Our mission is to decode and evolve the microbial ecosystems that sustain plant life in even the most hostile environments. By sequencing microbes across diverse crop systems and stress conditions, we’re creating a dynamic database to power the design of customized microbial consortia, engineered to restore degraded soils, boost crop resilience, and support agriculture on Earth and in space.
To deliver these living systems effectively, we also convert organic waste like forestry brush, coffee grounds, and pecan trimmings into high-performance biochar. This biochar serves not only as a regenerative soil amendment, but also as a stable substrate for microbial delivery, enhancing efficacy and scalability. Our biomass processing operation further enables partnerships in land management and wildfire mitigation, generating revenue and impact in tandem.
As we advance our microbial evolution platform, we are extending its applications to space environments, developing living shielding technologies that incorporate radiotrophic fungi for use in spacecraft and extraterrestrial habitats.
